SAN DIEGO – The top ten American Idols from Season 9 jammed out in Viejas Arena at San Diego State University Monday evening, but before the concert most of them spent the day enjoying what the finest city has to offer.
“If you’re bringing your kids to their first concert, American Idol’s a really good great choice,” said Crystal Bowersox, the runner-up of “Idol” season 9. “There’s a wide variety of music and have a good time.”
Idol Aaron Kelly said his brother lives in San Diego so they spent time together.

“We went out on a seal tour,” Kelly said. “We got to see a bunch of sea lions and dolphins so it was cool.”
Tim Urban said he played a round of golf while he was here.
“San Diego is actually the one place in California that I’ve actually visited,” said Urban. “My brother is in the Marines. He graduated from boot camp and we came out here for his graduation.”
Idol Casey James said he visited the Midway, but we wanted to know where is the strangest place James has been recognized.
“Definitely the strangest or most awkward place I’ve ever been recognized was in a men’s’ bathroom. I was like, ‘Yeah, it’s me man,'” said James. “I was like, ‘Good to meet you we’ll shake later.'”
The Idols said the nationwide tour has been a blast so far. Their next performance is in Anaheim, California.
