American Idol is giving its annual sweepstakes to fly 2 people to see the finale. Airfare, Hotel & accommodations are included! Joining is pretty easy and straightforward — they just need your email address to enter (so they can spam and send you junk mail for life)! Ha!
In addition, they are giving 50 people a paperback copy of Steven Tyler’s book: “Does the noise in my head bother you?” as consolation prizes.

There was no way America would have voted off a contender; a shoo-in for the finale! Idol wanted to pull a Casey Abrams this week in an attempt to boost its ratings!!! The judges even used its one and only save of the season for the finalist.
Last season, early fan favorite Casey Abrams was eliminated too early in the competition finishing at 11th place when he could have easily breezed his way in to the Top 3. Casey was saved by the judges and went on to compete 5 more weeks finishing at 6th place. Too bad for Pia Toscano, another fan favorite, the save was already used on Casey and she was eliminated two weeks later finishing at 9th place.
In an attempt to remain current and relevant, American Idol tries out songs from 2010 to now. Did it work? Hardly.
Having watched Idol from its very first season, this is the first season we’re actually dreading hearing the contestants sing!! Week after week, it seems we already know how these singers are going to sound regardless of the song they pick. Talk about predictability!!
We know Colton is going play the camera with his tantalizing eyes as though saying: “Yeah, I’m so hot and cool right?! and we say: “WRONG! NO!!” We know Colton is going to sound like he’s whining & pleading… it gets old. Phillip will be carrying his guitar and singing like Dave Matthews again. Hollie will sound boring & dated no matter what. Joshua, gospel-y & church-y. Skylar will tackle a country song. Jessica will be the little diva that she is and Elise, well, Elise could still surprise us.
