American Idol Top 8 Songs from the Movies list + iTunes Studio version Sampler [Season 10]

Fox Press Release: Songs from the Movies was tonight’s theme on American Idol! The “American Idol Top 8 Season 10” album compilation, featuring the full length songs performed by contestants on tonight’s show, will go on sale once again exclusively on the iTunes Store following Wednesday’s April 13th “American Idol.” Individual songs will also be available for sale.

The songs released on iTunes are studio versions recorded by the Idols under the guidance of Jimmy Iovine’s team, including some of the hottest producers in the business, such as Rodney Jerkins, Don Was, “Tricky” Stewart, Rock Mafia, Ron Fair and Toby Gad. The 8 individual tracks and compilation album that will go on sale tonight are being released on the 19 Recordings/Interscope label. The compilation album will sell for $5.99.

American Idol Final 8 Finalists to cover songs from the tinseltown

Fox Press Release – Finalist Pia Toscano was eliminated tonight on AMERICAN IDOL after she received the fewest of America’s votes. On Wednesday’s performance show, the Top 9 performed the songs from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Toscano, 22, from Howard Beach, NY, sang “River Deep, Mountain High.” Tonight’s episode featured performances by punk legend and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Iggy Pop and Season Four IDOL finalist Constantine Maroulis.

 

On Wednesday, April 13 (8:00-9:30 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), the Top 8 finalists – Casey Abrams,Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Stefano Langone, Jacob Lusk, Scotty McCreery, Paul McDonald andHaley Reinhart – return to the IDOL stage to perform songs from the movies.

 

Tune in the following night, Thursday, April 14 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), to the live results show to find out who receives enough votes to stay in the competition and who is sent home. In addition, Grammy Award-winning pop icon Rihanna will take the stage and Season One IDOL winner Kelly Clarkson and country music superstar Jason Aldean will perform their duet, “Don’t You Wanna Stay.”
